A Northern California Adventure: Have an Exploration Day!

What wonderful weather we are having in California right now! Especially in the Sacramento Area, when the 100's are looming ahead, the weather is at the perfect warmth right now with a light breeze. Making the BEST DAYS for an outdoor adventure!

Try this adventure on for size for a great combination of water sports, hiking and some good "all natural" cuisine!

1. Start the day at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center where you can rent kayaks, paddleboards and more! For a good price of $11.00/hr you can go for a leisurely paddle around Lake Natoma on the Nimbus Dam. A beautiful, peaceful area surrounded by trees and perfect for a romantic outing or family day-cation. (Gold River, CA)

2. Eat lunch at the nearby Sunflower Natural Foods Restaurant in Fair Oaks. A cute neighborhood in a forest setting near the American River. Try the all-natural "Nutburger" with sprouts, avocado and other fresh veggies served on a wheat bun. It's a delicious and healthy alternative to a greasy hamburger. They also serve fresh-juiced drinks and smoothies. You most likely will have a few rooster friends drop in!

3. Take a stroll along Fair Oaks Village to The Bluffs. A great place to ride bikes, or hike to the top of the golden trails for a spectacular view of the river and valley below.

4. End the day watching the sunset in Historic Folsom. With gorgeous walks down to the river's edge under the bridge, it will be the perfect end to a great day. Stroll through the Downtown strip for historic hotels, boutiques and lively restaurants, bars and live music.
