Have a San Francisco Day: Enjoy the Summer Fog!

As Mark Twain once said, his coldest winter was summer in San Francisco. Well don't let that stop you from enjoying the city by the bay this summer! Last weekend I experienced a lovely San Francisco Day with the sun shining through the fog. Try this game plan for a blissful summer day in SF:

1. Start off with an amazing brunch. (These places are sure to wow).

2. Head to the top of Coit Tower. Newly reopened, this SF monument lends the most remarkable view of the city, bridges and bay. See the piers stretch underneath your toes and follow the clouds to see the Golden Gate and Bay Bridge in all their beauty. Clear or foggy, you will have a magical experience at Coit Tower guaranteed. Open daily from 10:00am - 6:00pm.

3. Lunch and Drinks at Pier 23 Cafe. What a hidden gem! I love this spot. It's private, lively and funky. Ask to sit outside and prepare to be dazzled by a secluded outdoor eating area on the pier.

4. You could really end up anywhere for dinner and be happy. Act like a tourist for the day and walk Pier 39 to grab some clam chowder or a burger at Hard Rock Cafe. Or do as the Italians do, and have an authentic Italian meal or pizza in Little Italy/North Beach (Gelateria Naia is a great place for gelato dessert!) Delancey Street Restaurant is one of my favorites that is right near the waterfront with views of the Bay Bridge along the Embarcadero, but minus the $$ you would normally pay for the location. It's a great deal with awesome food and wonderful service ($10 average per entree).

Enjoy beautiful San Francisco!
