With a show-stopping cast featuring two of the greats, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, August: Osage County is a captivating display of misery and family life gone wrong. An exhilarating film that makes you think: "At least my family's not that bad." I honestly did enjoy being depressed while watching this film. It takes you to a deep dark place set in the Midwest middle of nowhere. But as you are on this journey hoping "please let it get better" for these characters and the hard reality of being born into a family of crazies...the end leaves you hoping there was hope, because there always is, and that they find it. If you want to go on a dark journey of a family stuck in a tangled web - pop a bag of popcorn and enjoy this flick on your own or with anyone who wants to join you on this journey. Just be prepared that this is no chick-flick comedy.
